Description
In one line
Ominous is a co-op horror game for up to four players. Close an interdimensional portal in a hotel where your team can’t see each other, and the creature can see all of you.
In a paragraph
You and your team are sent into a hotel to close a dangerous interdimensional portal before it unleashes a destructive force. There are no weapons: you get through the hotel and its alternate dimensions by exploring, solving puzzles and staying out of sight. Teammates share the same map but exist in separate dimensions, unable to see each other even when standing side by side, while the creature can see every one of them. Rifts lead to other places, including a poker table where winning earns a prize. Every map is procedurally generated, and the portal’s five-minute warning can sound anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes into a game.
Features
- Co-op for up to four. Or go in alone.
- Separate dimensions. Teammates share one map but can’t see each other. Split up, or find a way to pull everyone into one dimension.
- The creature. It’s fully aware of every player and will do anything to stop you closing the portal.
- No weapons. Explore, solve puzzles and hide.
- Rifts. Step through to somewhere else: solve the puzzle inside or die there. One leads to a poker table.
- A different hotel every game. Procedurally generated maps, and a portal whose five-minute warning can come anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes in.
